Light, airy creams made from 100% grass-fed beef tallow, whipped until soft and easy to spread. A whipped tallow cream is a natural body butter, rich but quick to absorb, made for everyday use on the face and body.
If you want a body butter in NZ built on a short, simple ingredient list, this is the range to start with. Browse the full collection below, or read on to choose the right cream for your skin.
A whipped cream absorbs faster than a firm balm, so it suits daily all-over moisturising. For concentrated care on rough, dry patches, see the firm tallow balms instead.
Whipped tallow is grass-fed beef tallow beaten with air until it turns light and fluffy. The air is what sets it apart from a balm. It melts on contact and spreads thin, so a small amount covers a lot without feeling heavy. Like all tallow products it is anhydrous and water-free, which means it works as a sealing step rather than a water-based lotion.
Tallow is close in make-up to the oils your own skin produces, so a whipped cream settles in rather than sitting on top. It naturally carries vitamins A, D, E, and K, associated with soft, supple skin. The whipped texture keeps the feel light enough for the face while still supporting the skin barrier and helping slow moisture loss on the body.
The range covers fragrance-free and scented options. For the simplest formula, the Bare Whipped Tallow Cream is pure tallow and nothing else. For an unscented cream with extra slip, try the Jojoba Oil Whipped Tallow Cream. For a fragrance-free botanical, the Calendula and Rose Whipped Tallow Cream. If you prefer a scent, the Jojoba Oil and Manuka Honey, Frankincense and Lavender, and Vanilla Bean creams each have their own character. Patch test scented creams first if your skin reacts easily.
Want a firmer, more concentrated option for rough patches instead? Compare these with the tallow balms.
In effect, yes. A whipped tallow cream is a natural body butter, grass-fed tallow whipped with air until light. The difference from a shop body butter is the short ingredient list and no water, so it works as a sealing moisturiser rather than a water-based lotion.
Yes. The light texture suits the face. Start with a tiny amount on slightly damp skin and press it in, thinking thin veil rather than thick layer. Patch test scented creams first if your skin reacts easily.
Yes. The Bare and Jojoba Oil creams are unscented, and the Calendula and Rose is a fragrance-free botanical. These suit people who prefer no added scent, including sensitive skin. The remaining creams use light essential oils or botanical infusions for scent.
Used sparingly it should not. Warm a small amount, apply it to slightly damp skin, and let it settle. Because the cream is whipped, a thin layer gives comfort without a heavy, slick feel. If it feels slick, you have used too much.
For the simplest formula, start with the Bare Whipped Tallow Cream. For a little more slip, the Jojoba Oil cream. For a fragrance-free botanical, the Calendula and Rose. If you want concentrated care for rough, dry patches instead, look at the tallow balms.
